FAQs

  • Your office is out of state, can I still work with you?

Thankfully technology makes it easy for us to communicate no matter where you are located.  We use Webinars, phones, email and personal visits to make sure our clients receive the service you need.  We now have one client in Costa Rica and one in England.  My focus is on the U.S. tax code.

We have offices in San Jose and Pleasanton, CA and Scottsdale, AZ.

  • When I call, what should I expect?

A nice, friendly conversation.  It’s important to understand what you are trying to accomplish. For example, many clients called because they want to pay less taxes throughout retirement. Many couples not only want to protect their lifestyle throughout retirement, but also make sure their wife will be okay if the husband passes away first.  So, I will have a lot of questions for you and I’m sure you’ll have questions for me.

After our discussion, we can decide if it makes sense to set up a complimentary meeting so that you can understand our “Full Harvest Process” and what it means to you.

  • If I learn about your Full Harvest Process, am I obligated in any way?

No. There are no commitments, no money, no exchange of personal information. It is strictly to educate, inform, share, listen and partner to see if our tax reduction strategies are right for you.

  • If I retain you, what should I expect?

Before you can retain me, you must go through my 3 step “Full Harvest Process”, to make sure that I clearly understand what’s important to you, your spouse or significant other.

Meeting one. This is a webinar.  This explains the work we do in detail. It runs about 1 hour and both spouses are required to attend if there are significant others.

If you like what you see and hear, then we go to meeting two.

Meeting two is where I start to learn about you, your wants, your objectives and even your fears about transitioning into retirement which could last 25 years or more. It is a candid, straight-forward discussion.

Meeting three is where I organize all your current financial stuff and give you a free report which tells you if you will have a retirement that falls into one of two categories, “NOT ENOUGH,” or “JUST RIGHT.”

At the end of this meeting, I will ask you one question, Do you want me to help you fix your “NOT ENOUGH?”

  • If I retain you, who will I work with?

I will always be your primary advisor.  My service team will also be involved to handle some of your day-to-day requests.  In addition, I partner with outside experts from time to time to assist in meeting your needs and goals.

Of course, I will work with some of your current advisors providing they are open and willing to communicate.

Communication is a key factor.  Review my own personal story regarding the $600,000 check to the IRS because my Dad’s advisors did not communicate with one another. WATCH VIDEO HERE

I’m curious, are your advisors currently communicating on your behalf?

  • Do you have to manage my investments for me to work with you?

NO.  We are hired for two reasons. To reduce your taxes throughout retirement and create and monitor your cash flow on an annual basis.  Cash flow is an accounting term that refers to money coming in and out of your life and includes taxes and many expenses that many advisors don’t plan for.

    I created a workbook entitled:

Managing the Unexpected – the Risks That Can Will Force You to Run Out of Money During Retirement.

  • What type of people become your clients?

Everyone pays taxes and everyone will retire.  My clients are hard-working, well educated, middle to high income earners.

    • The average age of our clients is 57
    • About 1 in 5 is retired
    • The majority are homeowners
    • 72% work for a corporation, 28% are self-employed including business owners and other professionals, such as doctors and nurses. I have one client who owns a mobile home park, another client who owns a pest control business and several in the construction business.
    • They are married or single, divorced or widowed women
    • They live beneath their means.
  • What type of things do you give advice on?

As a fellow Baby Boomer, I clearly understand the issues we face as we prepare to enter a life in retirement that could last 25 years or more.

In my opinion, the 2nd most important goal I help my clients address is to make sure you maintain your lifestyle for the rest of your lives.

The BIG, #1 goal, the most important goal is to make sure your wife can maintain her lifestyle for the rest of her life if the husband passes away first.

Reducing Taxes.  Taxes are the single biggest expense in our lives and I specialize in reducing your tax liabilities throughout retirement.

Developing a Cash Flow Retirement Plan.  Understanding how money moves in and out of your life, year in and year out is one of the most important aspects of enjoying and maintaining your lifestyle for the rest of your lives.

Monitoring and Managing the Unexpected is the real benefit you enjoy using my services.
